Colour Analysis

Discover your season. Find your palette.

story.

A professional colour analysis is a lovely experience, but it’s expensive and hard to book. I wanted to see how close one good photo could get, and what it would take for people to trust the answer.

how it works.

Take a selfie against a plain, light wall. The app checks the lighting, then Claude analyses your undertone, depth and contrast against the 12-season system. You get your season, your palette, and makeup shades to match.

key decisions.

Check the light before judging the face

Warm kitchen light can turn a cool Summer into an Autumn. Before any analysis, the app samples the corners of the photo (almost always background) to detect a warm, cool, green or magenta cast, and tells you when the lighting is likely to skew the result. Fixing the input beats explaining a wrong answer.

Show how sure it is

Every result comes with a confidence rating. The model also has to name the two nearest seasons and say why it ruled them out. A season that’s a close call is labelled as one, instead of sounding certain.

Real products, not just swatches

A palette is only useful if you can act on it. Each season links to a hand-picked set of lip, cheek and palette shades from Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Sephora brands.
